Could any of you tell me how many of the David Yellowhorse Para tools were made ? Hopefully one of the moderators that work at SOG can answer this for me please .

I realize that one can not reveal trade secrets but could you also tell if there is hope that SOG has any new or different multitools in the works ?

Thank you

Boy...I don't know for sure. My educated guess is either 500 or 1,000. A very small chance it was 2,500...but with how ugly they were, with how high priced they were, and with how very, very poorly they sold (last I saw, SOG still couldn't sell the last of them), the lower numbers sound more likely.

[It sure is nice to finally say what I think, not bound to what the company wants me to say.] :)

Ron, tell me more please, what were these tools ? When and how long were they made ? Were they engraved or embellished with decorations ? Wonder if there are any pics ? Thanks.

Hey Robbie,

It retailed for something like $495. It was engraved, had add-one thingies, and came in a gift box. "Gaudy" comes to mind. My guess of the production years would be early to mid 1990's.

Here's a picture I found online (sorry it's not better). I found it at The Knife Shop at this link.

I purchased that one today , I will pick it up within a few weeks . It is in Tucson , I live close to Phoenix . The manger there tells me that it is numbered #267 . I wrote to SOG as well today to ask if they still had any ( they did not ) and asked them how many were produced and they did not answer that portion of my question to them .

So I am still curious as to how many of these were made ?

Ron , is there someone at SOG that would know ?

Several suggestions:
 1. Email Chris@SOG
 2. Email SOG's Customer Service
 3. Or call SOG's Customer Service at 888.SOG.BEST
It might take some tenacity on your part, but someone should come up with it.

Oh, just had a thought. :D (They do happen!) There might/should be a issue number of how many produced (like 223/1,000) on/in each box. Either your tool will have that or SOG's Customer Service can check to see if they have one straggler tool in stock and check the number on it. If it has that number, then you'll know.

Hope that helps! :)

Hey Robbie,

Cheers,

Yeah sure thing ! You knife user ! :p I know those are harsh words NPH but sometimes I just have to tell it like I sees em......... :p , where have you been ? I thought maybe you got lost in the southern Cali desert, but I knew if you did, you had at least 3 "BushWhomper SOGs" with you. (We call em that here in the Smokies). And I knew you could cut one of them big cacti in half with one lop and survive just fine.
