Post up some of your favorite handles from DMC.

This is one from a knife I don't even own, but I love the look. According to the ad copy it is "walnut scales and honey locust liners".

Black Micarta and Firedog in two orientations. Rare small pins!

Camo Suretouch. Groovy texture.

I think it's no surprise which of my DM knives has my favorite handle:

The Flip Point is a close second:

The suretouch on the Flip Point is Fantastic, almost better when wet.

SharpBits SharpBits thanks for the thread of appreciation for my ever so modest work. Makes me feel good! 🥰

jbmonkey jbmonkey thanks for posting as well. You have quite an array of various texture styles that I quite enjoy as well.

oldmanwilly oldmanwilly thanks for posting, though I have to say the G.L. Hansen and Sons take much of the credit for the first once, since they are the ones who produce the amazing "G-Carta" material in so many interesting patterns. Always a pleasure to endure many light electro-shocks to grind that stuff. ;)

Gusbuster Gusbuster thank you so much for posting. I made that knife as a labor of love in appreciation to Empire Outfitters, who had patiently waited nearly a year for me to complete their order when it was hung up in heat treatment. Details here for anyone interested to learn more: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/we-have-a-winner.1963411/#post-22360638

The guys at Empire Outfitters didn't have to take a chance on me, but they did. This knife almost made me cry a time or two, but it was worth it to express my thanks to the guys, and to bring the winner, in this case Gus, a little joy.

I've got this oldmanwilly oldmanwilly

Go to the actual thread. It's a post or two down.

Sweet. I thought it might have been that one, but wasn't sure. Definitely on the list.*

* The list was meant to be nearing zero, but seems to be climbing. 🤦‍♂️

The handle is fantastic, but I think the sharpened swedge on mine is actually my favorite feature of the knife: no need to change grip positions while cutting, just cut up or down as needed. Who knew a partial double-edge would come in handy so often?

Suretouch is a great user material, but wood is tried and true. May not be quite as grippy, or quite as stable, but there’s no reason it can’t do just as well with a little care and maintenance. And wood and Micarta have a classic look and are both less expensive, and an order of magnitude easier to bring to a nice looking finish. What’s not to love?
