I have a Barry Dawson 61T knife but I don't know anything about it. What I would like to know is what blade material is used, Is this model still made (I couldn't find it listed on his site), If it is no longer made, what time frame were they, and finally what is it worth? Thanks.

I will try to help the best of what I have in info, and know.
The Model 61 is called the "Maximum Force" 9" 440C 1/4" thick steel. Came with a nylon/cordura or leather sheath, and handles were either linen micarta or wood. I have the same model in my safe, and bought it back in the early 90's, and the last catalog I show it still being made is 1998.
Price value is $367 for linen micarta handles or $336 for wood handles.
Mine has the great leather sheath, and beautiful wood handles, and it is a very stout knife in beadblast. Nice fighter style blade.
He comes here to Reno, Nevada to the Hilton Gun & Knife Show, and I have probably 34-36 knives in my collection of his knives. His 440C heat is the best in the business, and his swords are awesome(have 2). Also a great guy, and knifemaker. :)
Hope I have been of some help.

Thanks Larry, you helped alot, mine also has the wood handles, beadblast finish and the leather sheath. I wasn't sure if it was stainless or tool steel since it was magnetic. Are your wooden handles a yellow/brown combination laminate also? When you say "Price value is $367 for linen micarta handles or $336 for wood handles" was that the original selling price or current value? I ask because you definately sound like you know what you are talking about and priced it to the dollar. If $336 is the current value, I got a pretty good deal. Thanks again for the help.

Yes the wood handles have a two tone brown laminate look to them but feel so great, and smooth in the hand, very comfortable. He also makes all his own sheaths whether they be leather, kydex or nylon/cordura.
The prices are off of his catalog from 1998, meaning what he sold them for, and not current value.
It is a very strong built knife, and take about whatever you handle it, and with his great heat treat gets very sharp for a 440C blade.
I have been buying knives from him since 1987, and consider him a good friend, and have spent some great times with him while he was/is in Reno.
Again glad I could be of some help.

Larry
