We had a baby boy this spring so our usual camping and outdoor activities have been on hold. This was our first family outdoors trip with the new baby to one of our favorite waterfalls. It is not visible from any road and you have to walk upstream (in the water) to get to it. Every time we've gone we've had it to ourselves for as long as we want to stay and we find hand fulls of agates most trips.

I love this little corner when the sun hits it just right mid-day. The color of the water looks so inviting for a dip (and I have) but it's some pretty icy cold mountain spring and snow melt water.

Wow! Looks like an awesome place to behold. Thanks for sharing the pics from your trip. Congrats on the little one.

That is a beautiful spot. That is the kind of spot I could see myself spending lots of time at. I am sure it is very peaceful with the sound of the waterfall. Thank you for sharing this.

Looks like a great day in the woods with the family. Seems you're breaking your boy in right. Watch those slippery rocks.

Looks to be an amazing spot!! It's something else of a feeling when you know your spot is less travelled. Privacy and cleanliness. Good looking boy and the way it looks you'll bring him up to appreciate and love the outdoors. Is there much fish?

Thanks for the comments guys. We try to make it an annual trip as soon as the water level is low enough to be able to walk up. To answer everyone's questions: My son's name is Merrick. There are a fair number of trout in the river and they are easy to catch but, as is typical for Washington, one type or another is apparently endangered so the entire river system in that valley is catch and release only (our annual fishing regulations book is also up to 137 pages for stuff like this). The newfie is actually 2 1/2 years old, but he's just a runt at 110 lbs. He was the only male of the litter and was picked on/pushed out by his sisters. Don't underestimate him though or he'll take you down in a wrestling match.

That looks an amazing spot, good for you getting the youngster out into the fresh air as soon as possible !

Give Newfie a big pat for me !:)
