Took some time off yesterday and went for a hike in Michaux Stae Forest, Pa. with my buddy ED aka harpoon41. Basic trip, split some wood, started a fire and cooked some lunch. I'll let Ed fill in about the scenery.

Lovely area. Appreciate the pics.
What is that low-slung pack you're carrying in pics 1 & 3?
Is it comfortable? Do you recommend it?
And I love that large Bowie! Looks like a shortened gladius!
Who is the maker?

ETA: Whoops! Just seen your avatar...silly me.
Do you have more pics of the Bowie?

Thanks guys. It had just downpoured right before we got there. temps in the low 80's upper 70's, humid as all get out. I got soaked from wet vegetation and sweat. The last pic was a stream we had to cross. Running hard from the downpour.
I was carrying my Max water bottle holder with two pouches. Ed had a Duluth waxed cotton fanny pack. The bowie looked like a Ka Bar on steriods made by maker Brent Q. That smaller knife is a UNK designed by kahuana that I'm running a series of tests on. The steel is the new CPM S35VN. So far simply an amazing steel. I have a thread about it on my forum.

Great time yesterday.
The Duluth pack doesn't carry too bad. It stays in place when on with no swinging around.
As Scott said the knife is made by a friend of ours, Brent Quernemoen. A former Marine Corp Mountain Warfare instructor, Brent's a been there kinda guy. His knives aren't polished but just plain sharp and tough. Which also describes Scott's little cutter, but with the polish.
We had monsoon rains prior to this but we lucked out after they blew by.
