Day Hike to White Face Simi Valley CA

Located about center Simi Valley to the North of Sycamore Avenue. You access the trail head at Big Sky housing community heading north on Erringer to the top and then head east to the community park. It took us 3 hrs to complete, but could have done it under 2 alone. It was a little more advanced than I expected, had a trail of trials and tears, but mainly fun character building and exercise for the kids. No ipods, and no DS's on the trail.

The dog park was a riot to listen to. 3 dog fights with frantic owners mad at other owners for their dogs being....well, animals! I now call this Simi Valley Dog fight park....

This trail was tough but great, most of it was dragons back style.

We got to enjoy the green and the cool weather as long as we can.. before we know, Its hot and brown again... Im going geocaching to point Mugu tomorow...

I almost forgot to show the highlight of the trip! As a kid growing up in So Cal, I always heard that horny toads were here, but never saw one in the wilderness, only pets (doomed for an early death in an aquarium). My son said, "Dad, there is a baby bearded dragon here!" I knew it could not be, but hoped for a Horned toad sighting, and lo and behold! I can now die comforted to know that these little guys are still around. I would not let the kids catch it.

Great pictures. Glad to see you got the kids out of the house and into the "wilderness".

Great pics. I grew up in Agoura and have done tons of hiking in the hills around there and I have never seen a horned toad.
