I've been reading through the share your CRK for the day thread, and seeing some carry to work to use in their work, some carry different knives at work for policy or rule, and I was just curious. How many of you use your CRKs in the course of your jobs, and how many carry a knife at work just for food, letters, and maybe the occasional package.

To start, I work in an office building, but have no issues carrying whatever knife I want. It's usually a conversation starter.

I am one of the lucky ones whose job offers many opportunities to use my Crk. I am electrician by trade. Most days I get to use my knife whether it be stripping wire, cutting rope or string, opening packages, scoring Sheetrock, cutting tape, cutting non metallic seal tight, scoring metallic seal tight, shaving wood, scraping stickers, sharpening pencils, cutting down cardboard, and the list goes on. Now there are days that I don’t even take my knife out of my pocket, some days it’s nonstop use. Some days it’s nothing but opening chip bags or tasks that don’t really require a knife but I’ll find an excuse to use it. Carrying and using them is where I get my most enjoyment. I have no doubt or reason not to believe a Crk is built to work/use and built to last

I am a Sr Production Tech at Sanofi Pasteur and am hoping to fill a COVID-19 drug or vaccine in the near future. That being said, I am not allowed to carry a knife on site. I do carry at all other times though when at home and out and about.

I am an HVAC service technician, and get to use my Sebenzas every day. Opening boxes, stripping wire, cutting sheetrock, flex duct, the list goes on. I have become to very much prefer the Insingo blade for all of these tasks over the Drop Point.

Greatly dependent on career with me.

University class lecturer: office based and mainly food hiking trips etc.

Geological Field Tech in the oil and gas industry: From cutting hydraulic pipes, prepping wireline tools, core sampling, hardness tests of rocks, food prep etc. Was some of the hardest work my knives have ever seen.

Environmental co-ordinator in the oil and gas industry and now mining industry, cutting of leaves for sampling, cutting of roots and other sampling aspects to opening packages is the day to day. Sometimes harder work like prepping tools/cutting of wires l, stripping of wires cutting of sampling cord but nothing like previous any more.

Hardest work my Sebenza sees now is when I use it to make my own knives I would say.

My primary job is at a chemical plant which is shift work. I work 6 months out of the year. The other six months, I do plumbing work. I carry two knives daily, a CRK and another knife. My managers at the plant really don’t enforce the policy of no personal knives at work. But I am aware of the policy. Doing plumbing is where the brunt of my knife needs happens. My knives are used regularly doing various jobs. Depending on the job, sometimes I do delegate one knife for dirty work. That’s the CRK, it’s easier to take apart and clean than some of the other knives I carry.
I’ll usually carry a CRK and slip joint at the plant. I’ve been known to carry a large Sebenza and Impinda at the plant.

Until Wednesday I am the lead tech / maintenance supervisor for good size regional shopping center. That means electrical ( my trade), plumbing, HVAC, drywall, tile, painting etc all day everyday and I use my knife, small Wilson 21 insingo, for everything I need a knife for to do those tasks.
Starting Wednesday I become the Ops Director so I’ll have to trade in the tool belt and boots for khakis and desk chair but the same CRK will handle that as well and for those times I just can’t stand it and need some lift time I will have all the knife I need right where it’s always been.

I work as technical support for a manufacturing plant that produces banking drive thru equipment. We support the Pneumatic systems, Audio\Visual, Safes, Vaults, Night Depository Heads, and Pharmacy and banking transaction slide out drawers. My daily use is opening boxes and and some electrical work here and there. And anything else i can think of to take my knife out. LOL I'm fortunate enough to not have any concerns about the knife I carry at work. I only have have two in rotation at the moment but I have no concerns that they were made to be used. Great Thread!
