Day out with the BIG ASH and ASHBM

Buddy of mine and I went out for a hike yesterday and spent the day on the mountain alongside a nice creek.
Heres a few pics of our trip with my BIG ASH and his ASHBM.

This was my first time using an ASH1 and I've been nothing but impressed from chopping, feather sticking, batoning, and all around function of this knife.
It's my new favorite and a keeper FOREVER. Can't wait for my Chuddy Bear sheath to come in with a fire steel for it. It will be permanently attached to my hip
everytime I hit the woods what a great belt knife! :thumbup:

My buddy with his ASHBM throwing chips chopping gathering firewood. Was a lot of dead pines so we had an easy time snapping off dead branches.
Still gotta do some chopping for fun though.

Started the fire with fire steel and feather sticked fat wood. Getting our hot water warmed up for hot chocolate.

Looks like a great time. I will have to pry the boy from the TV and head out one of these days.

Man these are very nice pictures, nothing better than INFI in the woods, thanks for sharing..and I agree with you BIG ASH-1 one of my favorites Busse knives.......
 
Oh my goodness! Busse has got to come out with another run of those saber grind ASH1s! I got the NMFSH but didn't win the ash :(... its a great blade.. Make More Garth! :))) sweet combo with the red/black G10. Busses are designed to be in the woods. great pics
 
Thanks for the winter camping photos. An inspiration to us cold weather couch potatoes, although you mid-westerners probably do not want to hear our current LA temperature. Makes it pleasant while dodging bullets during rush hour traffic...Cheers.

Gonna be doing a weekend on the mountain and taking quite a bit of steel with me:D
