Hanna had some routine tests today, so Connie and I took Hayley out for the day. She loves to go hiking, and "exploring", so we started out near Heideikie Lake at the nature center for a hike.

After that, we went to Morris to look at fossils (she loves collecting rocks) and to the antique store where I found a mint 2 dot Buck 110 for $18!
Then we drove to Dwight to have lunch at the Country Mansion. I managed to get a ticket (first one in 40 years) in the middle of nowhere, for doing 70 in a 55 limit, there a quick $120 down the drain.

Then we drove back home down old Route 66 through the small towns. Here`s Hayley "behind bars" at the old Gardner jail.

We had a great day out, and Hayley had a ball!

Always glad to see Jeep Pics! Too bad about the ticket. I'm guessing you didn't go the "Don't you know who I am route?"

Awesome day, first few look like a place I used tow ork, and I spent some time on route 66 during my honeymoon, a little further west though :)

Nice photos John. I would love to own a sweet little cabin like that with those big open sky vistas.

Looks like a great day in Illinois. Other than the chat with the law. Oops.

looks like a fun time, you have to rememer to use the " wow my daughter the cop told me about this.... etc.

I would've loved to spend a day like that with my Grandparents.
Great pics.

And good for you for paying extra taxes.(maybe you can get a filled in pothole or a section of the road you were on named after you.);)

Right after I got my new truck last year I got 2 speeding tickets in less than a months time on opposite sides of the state.
I figure I'm pretty well caught up on my taxes.

Thanks for the pics John.

Good to see Hayley having fun with you two. So often, when there is a illness in the family like Hanna's, the siblings take a back seat. She must have had a great time.
