I know,I know, I haven't been posting much,:o but I have been taking some day trips to the old stomping grounds and playing with some tools.

First up is the new saw....
A Stanley AccuScape Pruner.(For 22 bucks plus tax I couldn't resist)
It made short work of a nice old fatwood stump(with the old hatchet) and then the downed tree I tested my Silky and DIY Buck saw on this past spring/summer.

Thanks to the coating (Teflon?) the sap/sawdust mix scraped off easily.

It didn't cut as smoothly as the Silky, but it has something like 6 teeth per inch so it made it through no sweat.

A view from about a month ago and the next two are from yesterday.

The yellow trees are Larch's.
Pretty soon some areas out there will be carpeted with yellow needles like some places in wetter environs get covered in green moss.
Very cool to see, hopefully I can get some pics in a couple of weeks after Elk season ends and I can wander around safely.

Next is the JK Commando EDC I won in the auction.
I added some finger groves and a penetrator tip.

Welcome back Myke. Thanks for the great photos!

Jeff
Thanks Jeff,I still owe you some pics of my Pocket Muk, but I just haven't gotten up the gumption to handle it yet.

Great pics! Does the fatwood make good kindling?
We dont have that tree round here.
Fatwood makes great kindling heef.
It comes from old pine stumps and knots mostly, sometimes you can find it in the center of a rotten log or the roots of a fallen pine also.
I'm sure you have pines out there in gator land eh.
Send my your address and I'll send you some of this prim PNW FW to try out.

That commando is bad a$$.
Yup!

I love Me some fat wood!

Just take your knife spine and scrape some dust off of the piece of fat wood into a nickel sized pile and hit it with a ferro rod and《Boom》instant fire.

I would love to get my hands on some more but I have enough to hold me over for the foreseeable future and it is easy to get near me. Plus, I am sure there are other folks lining up, let them enjoy it.

Thanks for the doing this and keeping us in the loop. Glad your still around and doing ok.

Thank you for the pictures; I enjoy these threads. And I'll take you up on the offer for a fist full of fatwood. I'll send an email with my address. Thanks

I love Larch in the fall....planted a young one last year on hill above my house.

I look at your photo's and wonder why I still live here in Chicago?

When I was in the Marine Corps, there was a guy in our shop that had a tattoo of some musical notes on his arm and one day another guy asked him what it represented and he said it was the notes for..... na na nana na.

Just thought I'd share that story with you Brad.;) :D

OK I have the addresses of 4 of yous guys, just need YoungCurmudgeon's.

The bundles will go out Saturday BTW.

The Fatwood is on the way gents, should be starting fires Monday night.
I stuffed as much as I could in the small Pri boxes, enjoy and remember a little goes a long way.
