Finally, a little snow fall came our way, the first since the Christmas holidays for our area in Southern Ontario. I was supposed to go to an Ohio meet-up this weekend with Joe, but he got sick and I was a bit too lazy to make the three hour drive by myself. So, off to the prairie for a romp in the snow.

Had the place to myself and made a little twig fire to warm my hands and enjoy my coffee.

Decided to say a few words on video about my Breeden Big Paw which I've had for a few years now. I really like this thing for winter use with gloves. Older shot with an osage orange Kat-model knife on top (traded to Mtnfolk Mike for another Breeden model) and the big paw as it arrived all new and shiny.

Thanks for taking us along! Looks like a great day to have got out, enjoy some fresh, cool air, sip some hot coffee, and exercise the pups. I liked the background tunes as well - nice, easy listening - i'm thinking it was some Frank Sinatra? and some other unknown to me Musician - good stuff though!

Great review on Bryan's knife btw. He's making a completely custom knife (from my design and input from his expert advice) for me as well - i can hardly wait.

Hows the edge retention on that 0-1?

I'll be doing something bigger/fatter and thicker (1/4") but i'm confident Bryan is up to the challenge and can work his "Mojo" on that big 'ol chunk of 0-1 and make into a true Breeden Razor.

Nice T/R!

Ken, that was pretty dang cool lol. Thanks for the kind words and I glad to hear that you still like using your Big Paw Knife.

You said you were glad for the snow we are just getting rid of a few inches thanks to the sun lol. I am loving it lol lol.

Me no liky any snow.

Your area looks like a great place to hike in.

I love that you used the dried weed stalks. they are great for getting a fire started. I love using them.

Thanks for sharing the pics and the Video of your day out.

Well chat with you later,Ken.

Bryan

Edge retention is fine. I'd recommend having Bryan put one of his convex edges on it. He does a nice job with it and it is easy to maintain.

Oh, no worries there! I trust Bryan implicitly when it comes to 'sharp things'. :D I've seen more than a couple photo's illustrating the affects of a Breeden Razor on human skin  as well as more than a couple videos showing how effortlessly his knives glide through notebook paper.

To say i'm excited is quite possibly the greatest understatement of this decade.

It's really tough waiting on his back-order schedule - a-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n !!!! :p I'm thankful i have an overwhelming amount of work to accomplish in the time-frame while waiting, but still.....

Great stuff Ken, I always enjoy your posts especially the video's !:)

I'm really liking that Big Paw.....great design !!!

Snow.. we got a whole 2" out of that last storm that came through. Really wish this winter would just end so I can get next winter and hopefully a lot more snow. Thanks for the pics and vid, Ken.

Looks like an awesome day. I wish we had gotten some snow this year in central MA. It's very weird to have a winter with as little snow as we have had.
