Saw it tonight. Pretty good, 1 thumb up. Yes its another vampire movie, but not the same tired old story. Neither a teenage girl, halequin romance novel in desguise, nor a Blade rip-off.

Vampires have taken over society and become society. However, they have pretty much hunted out humans and haven't been very good at resource management. The vampire nation is in its own TEOTWAWKI. For those that like the vampire theme, this one has a new theme going on and it isn't over played.

One reviewer commented on it as being a mixture between Blade Runner, Blade and Gattica. I pretty much concur with that comparison. Ethan Hawke plays a good flawed hero in what is almost a type-caste role for him. He does a good job. William Defoe's character is pretty cool also. Ending wasn't very good....rather contrite really, but still worth the ride.

I'll see it, I'll always see a vampire movie. I'll see Legion too.

Nice to hear it's a new spin on the genre.

I liked the concept as well. As a vampire junkie, it's great to see a new spin.

As a film, there seemed to be things that were missing, or not fleshed out as well as they should have been, plot holes, and extra little bits that weren't re-incorporated into the storyline that started bugging me by the end.

It's interests me to know what got left on the cutting room floor. though with a budget of 20 million there may not have been a cutting room floor.

Saw it last weekend, and was actually surprised at how good it was.

Nice twist on the diminishing resources theme, and kinda funny to see Wilam DaFoe as the comic relief character.
