Hello all,

I'm looking for a daypack. Something tough, big enough to carry my lunch (big eater), bottle of water, jacket, fishing odds and ends. Nothing huge though. Will be mostly edc to carry food, small books/magazines, phone, gadgets. but will have to do weekend duty on hiking/fishing trips. Water reservoir is not necessary. Good warrantee, U.S. made is a bonus. I've been looking at Mountainsmith, and Maxpedition. Maxpedition might be a little too tactical for my workplace.

Thanks
D

I like Maxpedition and I use one daily on my morning walks. I use a camelback water reservoir in mine.

My first choice would be Osprey. They're comfortable, well made and highly rated.

If you want something US made you have limited choices, as I don't know of any big brand name companies that make packs here anymore. McHale is one but they're a high end pack. A couple of companies that make smaller packs are Gossamer Gear and ULA Equipment. Both of these make ultralight packs so they may not be exactly what you're looking for.
