I'm trying to get my axe to razor-sharp but it just won't go. Has anyone else had this issue with this axe or has anyone gotten a razor edge on it?

Im not able to get it to a razor edge. With a file finish it feel sharper than with a stropped finish. I don't understand why since my fiskars took a shaving edge.
If that’s the case then you’re probably rounding over the apex with the strop. Its easy to do on softer steel, which most axes are. Try reducing the angle

Are you going straight from file to strop without stone?

In addition to the strop possibly causing overmuch rounding at the apex, it's possible that what feels razor sharp off the file is, in fact, a burr or wire edge that's being folded over by the strop, causing a sort of artificial blunting. Use a fine sharpening stone to touch up the apex of the edge at a slightly steeper angle than the file, edge leading--not trailing--to help cut off any burr that may be present. It's typically quite easy to get a shaving-sharp edge on Council axes so long as you remove the burr.
