I was wondering if anybody has, or ever used a dayton 14" band saw. I found a rebuilt one for sale for $400.00. It's a four speed (175, 210, 260, 3,000) and seems to be pretty solid. I couldn't find any info on the web I never saw a wilton in person, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Do you think it's worth it or should I save for a wilton?
Thanks, Joe

Joe,if you are talking about a metal cutting bandsaw, you can get a horz./vertical from Harbor Freight for about 175-200=3speed.If wood cutting, same co.,has 14"4 speed for about 300-325,and they pay the frt.,over 50bucks purchase.

No, it's not the horizontal/vertical one harbor freight sells. This one has a 14" x 14" table with a miter guage and rip fence. The table also tilts 45 degrees. The blade length on this one is 93 1/2"
Harbor freight has the one your talking about on sale now for $169.99 + free shipping.

Joe, I think he knows what kind of saw you're talking about...because I am thinking along the same lines as I believe he is.

Yes, the Dayton is a LOT higher quality than the Harbor Freight models, but you can spend a little more and have two seperate saws for their own task.

The Dayton would be nicer, but you have to keep in mind that you will have to continually change speeds and blades.

The best of both worlds would be two Wilton's, one for wood, one for metal....just open up your pocket-book.

Just trying to keep it clear...

I'm sorry, I misread MIHKNIVES post. I already have a wood cutting saw, I was just thinking the table on this saw would be alot nicer than the Horizontal/vert.
Two Witons sure would be nice!
