After a run on bandaids, every time I sharpen an axe, it goes into a sheath. With single bit, I just buy a commercial Kuny one ,cut it down as they only come in 3 1/2# and hatchet, and rivet but with a DB it wasn't going to be as easy. The first one I followed a saddle makers pattern, some thing like this https://www.google.ca/search?q=doub...h=911#imgrc=43ws_cExeJZ3JM:&spf=1555958777118
This time I made my own pattern more like this https://www.google.ca/search?q=doub...h=911#imgrc=VhLKUpG4GpgWYM:&spf=1555958046462 I used a welt?? to get the arch. Both of my attempts are very workman like . Maybe next time I'll try for something a little more the one linked. But I do like the this design for a DB.
Down this axe road has the workshop smelling of leather and more tool purchases!
