Hey guys. Now that im getting into axes, I really am starting to lean towards the double bit cruiser axe style the most. I think it has been that Dick Proenecke video that has been getting to me....:D I really like the style of that axe he uses. Looks to be very versatile. So, could anyone make a recommendation of where to get one of the best quality? I know yard sales, and the like, but how about a brand new one? I really want an axe that will hold an edge long if possible, not some crap steel. So, lets hear your opinions, on what double bit cruiser axe YOU would buy and where from! Thanks guys, this is addicting!

Ahhh. The endless search for axe nirvana. Cruisers are sweet little choppers. You won't be disappointed. But you also won't have a poll (hammer) with you.

Brands? What zcd said. Warren also made quite a few.

I think the vintage steel will be as good or better than any new steel. And the geometry will likely be better.

Watch the bay. There are cruisers coming up all the time. Pick one and re-handle it if necessary.

Barco still makes a decent cruiser. Does not come sharpened or profiled, so you will need to be handy with a file. No other companies make a cruiser that I know of.

Condor comes close. Their DB Michigan is 1.75 lb and 24".

i'd say this would be a good choice. i would not mind trying one of these out myself
