I'm a part time leo and want a fixed blade to carry on duty. I've got a WB on order but I know that it will be to big for duty work, I'm trying to decide between the DB and the eblt. I like the cord wrap handle on the db but I've heard the blade on the eblt is thicker and sturdier? What do you guys think?
Thanks Eric

I have a DB for utility work. I carry an EBLT every day. Check the dimensions on length to determine whether or not the EBLT is too long for your application as to overall length. If you a plain clothes the EBLT is easy to conceal it may be frowned upon in uniform.

Compromise, EBT. Strider Web page has blade dimensions listed, stock thickness is the same I believe.

Both are great knives... Can't really go wrong with either. Depends what you want it for. The DB is a smallish blade. Some of the guys carry them on their vests. The EB's are larger and have really good grip purchase. They are heavier/thicker then the DB.

As Hammerhead said, the EBT might be a good compromise. You should also check out the TAD TKa if you want a smaller blade but like the G10 "EB" style grips or the HT if you like a bigger cord wrap blade. I remember hearing about an Airwave model. I believe that it is a thinner version of the EB. You could check with Joe Estrada on that one. He was the one that mentioned it to me.

Good luck on you search,

S.

The Airwing as described by Joe is thinner stock with a sharpened false edge. It appears to be the size of an EBS in all other aspects.

Joe seems to be quite impressed with the Airwing. Drop him a line if you are interested I am on the list for one, for my wife.
