I this legit? A DCBB SFNO LE???

I’ve never heard of or seen a DCBB LE SFNO. But it is possible that the DCBB finish was requested by original owner when new ?
 
I've never seen anything like this. Has Jerry ever engraved it and THEN blasted it to the point it's practically invisible? And then there's almost gremlin-ish lines on it, out of the custom shop? I can't say it's a go but for this one, doesn't add up for me - I'm not a cynic but something seems off to me- and that's worth about ten cents :D ... I've never seen an example like this - Why would he blow away the logo??? Maybe it is legit but that needs to come from someone above my paygrade.

Yea I'm thinkin its an "aftermarket" DC/BB.

If someone is willing to go so far as to dupe that logo, who knows. Or what seems most logical, someone actually modded their CS and fk'd it up? That's not something I could see coming out of the shop, nope- If I was betting, it's a stripper and blasted and basically shot it's potential value in the ass - that's where I'd be.
 
Highly unlikely they copied that Tiger Linen Micarta.
Might want to check the BF rules about posting current eBay auctions.

Yea the micarta is spot on. Pretty sure this is an aftermarket blast on a legit LE.

Don't think I broke any rules by asking for guys to weigh in on the legitimacy of a blade, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
 
I'd classify this an investigation :D might as well take a dremel and freehand "BUSSeY" on it ;)

It looks legit .. somebody decided to bead blast the satin . It has a mashed cat sheath as well . I’m doubtful a knock off busse would have been sent in for a sheath to be made .

I’m surprised it hasn’t sold yet , been up all day .

It looks like a genuine SFNO LE (it's tigerhide with the xxx of 300 marking barely visible), but the bead blasted finish isn't original. SFNO LE's were satin, and you could read the markings.

But I think posting a link to a live auction is a big no no, so you might want to delete the link.

Whomever would blast satin needs to be on a list at the compound :confused::confused::confused:
I wouldn't give any amount for it because I could never pull that out and admit what it was-

I think its probably just the light. On the other hand, while the knife is clearly a real SFNO LE, the finish and its origins are suspect at best, so who knows... All I know is, I ain't buyin it. :)

And then the other voice says, "Yea but it IS a piece of INFI...and a tiger hide SFNO LE at that. Maybe we could talk him down, and then beat the livin snot outa that knife without guilt... Plus 'non-reflective' is stealthy, for when the zombies come...."

NOTICE: ADDICTION IS ADDICTING AND IT'LL MAKE YOU CONCOCT CRAZY REASONS TO SPEND MONEY ON THINGS YOU ALREADY HAVE THREE OF (OR SEVEN). And I removed the link, sorry for that. Next time I'll just grab the pics and post them.

Hard to resist saber ground SFNO infi , would make one hell of a beater. There’s always AzTim or Josh at razors edge :-) just saying :-)
 
Everyone needs to understand that live, current auction links are not permitted here. OTOH, links to closed/completed auctions are fine for the purpose of discussions.

Having not seen this blade, and not knowing what the seller was claiming, I can say that I had a satin FSH variant from the Easton Trunk Show sent back to the Shop for a DCBB treatment. If I was to ever sell it (DON'T ASK) I would fully explain the provenance. But, that's just me.
 
I had 3 of those SFNO LE knives. Apparently, I sold them too soon. Ah, well, some regrets.
