Last month i purchased a dc kukri from Hi, After using it for a month i have to say that its better than i ever thought it would be! I have wanted a kukri since a kid after seeing my great uncles he brought back from ww11, and since there wasn't internet when i was a kid there was no were to get one, so you can imagine how excited i was. Anyway getting back to using the kukri, I found a piece of cedar about 4 inches thick and started chopping and at first i was thinking
that is was ok until i noticed it was fat wood and had blown a piece out about 2 inched deep and 3 inches across! So in a panic i checked the blade to see if it chipped and no damage! Then i found a piece of dry osage orange about 4 inches thick and blew threw it as good as a hatchet, after that i made feather sticks, carved a spoon and cleared light brush. I found hooking the blade with a slight upward angle worked very well. It sharpens to hair shaving sharp quick and holds a edge for a good long time. I have to say it will be my one field knife hunting, fishing and camping. Its a little over a pound and rides a belt well, its not near as burdensome as some have said. I love the thing!
