You know, Solstice? You will be the reason I end up having to explain to my wife why I need to buy a bead blaster for the garage...

Nice work!

Nice work!
My neighbor across the street has a brand spankin' new one that he has never used.. He said that I could use it anytime that I like. I might just have to take him up on that offer some day. ;)

What did you use to execute the butt grind?

Hacksaw and 3 different types of files.

(Why, may I ask, did you cut its butt off?)

Because I can.... Seriously though I wanted to see what doing one would involve and I wanted to shorten the length of it. The PD has pretty much the same handle as the BA3 and that's what convince go ahead and try it.

Solstice,

You're hired!!!! :D

I know that it's one heck of a commute. . . .but at a $1.14 an hour. . . it should be worth it!!!!!

Does he have to bring his own hacksaw and files, or will they be provided?

Brian, congrats on getting the job!!! Sure the pay may suck, the commute sucks even more, but this means that you will have access to the hallowed halls of INFI and go to places most of us can only dare to dream of.

Additionally, more than likely a very good discount can be had. :D

Nice work on the BA.

Wow, that really does change the look of the knife. I'm a big fan of the original design, but I like the "no-butt" look alot too. You really do good work. Let me know when you open up Solstice's No Butt BB House of Modified Infi so I can get in line.

To be able to walk around in your shop Jerry... hell bro I'd work for free!

Thank you for all the compliments guys...what a great crew!

How did you get the scales off  in order to satin finish the entire blade?
I've been thinking about satin finishing some of my knives but am wondering if you need a special tool to get the busse scales off.

heck, no need. beads bounce off micarta!
plus, the added corrosion resistance under the scales can't be a bad thing.( even though INFI doesn't corrode MWAHAHAHA!!
just guessin.:p
btw, great job!!!

Thanks for the info - I have access to a bead blaster at work - I'll give it a try.

NICE JOB !!!!

I'm a big fan of butt grinds, especially on the smaller blades. Had/have several and really like what it does to the overall feel and balance.

Like from NO size on down.
