DD pommel removal

Guys,

I recently picked up a Desert Dagger. I'd like to rehandle it myself, but I can't seem to get the pommel off.

When I attempt to turn the screw at the base of the pommel, it begins to strip out. I'm afraid to put any more pressure on it, lest I strip the head completely.

Any thoughts?

This probably has loctite on the threads..........try a hair dryer to heat it and then take it out.

It's supposed to be soldered into place. I've heard people have success getting their's off while other's cannot--usually, most cannot get their's off. In both cases, damage most often occurs to the screw slot. The factory will most likely tell you not to remove it and that if you try and/or succeed, the warranty will be void. Sorry for the "good" news.

I can get mine off with no damage to the screw slot.
