I posted some pics back in Nov wanting to ID some
knives and dd2 got real close to the answer.
You suggested the black handled (ebony) knife might
be from Britt Brown collection; ie page 275 of the
Gaddis book. I took your suggestion and sent it in
to Gary.
He does not know who it was done for, but said it was
totally RMK made, one of very few specials made in the
early sixties with the "S" hilt and the scalloped
collars and butt. It is the only one he has ever seen.
These features are common to the Britt Brown knives
shown in the book. Is this collection still intact?
If someone can post attachments for me, I will email
a scan of the letter and a few more pics this weekend.
