I know a lot of you were asking about an HTM balisong priced at 400 or less. I was surprised to find out at Bladeshow this year that DDR actually had a balisong model there that I've never seen before. It's called the DRT - AP (Darrel Ralph Tactical - American Patriot). It's 299 (250 at Blade if you buy 10 at once). It's got some heft to it and flips well according to Ryan and Stu (both part of what Darrel calls the DDR Disciples, who are basically DDR's butterfly flipping team). If I'm not mistaken, they come in a bowie blade profile. We actually sold out of all the ones we had there, but are prob getting 20 in today, Sunday. I'll try to snag a few pics.

The HTM bali is apparently still coming, but I would be surprised if it would actually be cheaper than 299. Sometimes what Darrel does makes no sense at all, like this bali which is a DDR knife, not an HTM.

WHOA! I'm not really a bali user/collector -- not legal to carry out here in CA -- but I'd be all over one of those if I were at BLADE.

Yea, these knives are completely amazing lol. this is the knife i was referring to in my thread about the blade show update ill get some pictures up here in a few.

I'd always wondered what the DDR Disciples were.

Maybe we can start a team called the DDR Apostles for people who, uh, open and close regular DDR/HTM folders! :p

Ryan's gonna mod a subforum after Spark makes it for us. It'll be the DDR/HTM butterfly forum.

^^^Sweet! Are those handles Ti or stainless steel? And does the pivot have Maxx Glide?

this is darrels mid tech balis and they are based on a bushing system but for 50 bucks you can upgrade it to the maxxglide bearing system and the handles are stainless giving it an amazing weight almost like it was a built flipper for the one who prefer a little heavier of a knife. even still thou if you prefer the lighter end i would strongly suggest you get one of these anyways they are great entry balis into the DDR/DRT-AP line

Yeah, definitely! It's a great deal on an awesome knife! I was just curious about the materials/mechanisms. Thanks!
