Not sure how many of you guys know about the contest we've had running for the past few weeks, but we're giving away a prototype titanium s35vn framelock. I figured I'd post here in order to give more people a chance to win this fabulous knife. The link to the contest is in my signature.

You guys have one more week to enter, so good luck everyone!

(And if this isn't allowed, I guess another mod can lock this thread, but I think I'm in the clear here since I've seen quite a few give aways on the general forum. Plus this is directly knife related. $500 dollar prototype knife related to be exact).

Quiet, Hark! The more people who enter, the lower the chances for those of us who already entered! :grumpy:

:p

Heh. I just do what the boss man tells me to. I was tasked with getting more traffic to Darrel's little corner of bladeforums, which this time of year is proving to be a bit difficult with all the holidays and such.

It's a good idea to link it out here; it should bring in more people. Which reminds me, I need to enter!

Minimum 3 months membership. I don't qualify *sigh*. Oh well, there's always next year. Good luck everyone!

Don't worry, from what Hark and Darrel have said, there are more contests in the works. So while you'll technically have to wait until next year, it'll be early in the year rather than this time next year.

There is another contest after this one ends on the 17th, but I'm wanting to wait til at least after New Year's to start it up, figuring people are gonna be outta town with fam/friends. No point having a contest "clock" tick while no one is around.

I just have to finalize the actual contest part, which historically has been a thought provoking question.

I think the contest question/prompt should be about neuroscience.

Guessing that's your area of expertise. Well if we're going that direction, I'd ask a question about biomechanics, which is my field of expertise. All kidding aside, I'll come up with something that is both simple, yet enough to facilitate some thought (because I hate, "your post is your entry number" type contests).

Totally agreed. A lot of the fun of these DDR/HTM giveaway contests is reading the cool, thoughtful, and sometimes just plain funny entries that people come up with. Much better than a monotonous stream of "I'm in! Thanks for the chance, bro!" entries in the "your post number/random number generator" contests.

Nice. Once I'm qualified, I'm in. Thought provocation usually gets me in trouble, but I'll give it a shot! :D

Just out of curiosity, assuming the entering was not 18, could they have the knife shipped to someone who was 18 or older so as to still have a chance?

Sorry, but that's a risk I and DDR et al. rather not take. There's just too much that could go wrong. Then there's the whole liability thing.

But thanks for bringing something to my attention. From now on I will verify the age of whoever wins any contest. It's like selling alcohol to minors. We have to protect ourselves from that, only in this case we're talking about knives.

Just out of curiosity, how the heck do you expect to do that?
