With Darrel’s unfortunate passing I have to wonder with the pre-orders what will happen with the knives in progress. I know I’m not the only one in this boat and I haven’t been able to get in contact with anyone at the shop. Has anyone in this forum seen any posts on social media I may have missed that give an idea of a path forward?

I am in the same boat. I did contact one of the admin on Darells Facebook page and he told me I would probably never see my $785 down payment. Then he promptly blocked me.

This is exactly why I don't ask for deposits - I'm 74 and I wouldn't want my wife to have to deal with this kind of stuff.

Exactly, I take on one project at a time with payment due on completion and I make sure my wife would be able to contact the customer if something unforeseen did happen.

Yep - good man. I do the same - I cleared my books after I almost bit the dust last year.
