Came in the mail today!....I had been wanting one of these when I first started seeing pics on the forums...e mailed Darrel and was told someone had dropped off list , so he put name in .said just a few weeks..great...then I remeber while cruising Arizona custom knives site i had seen a couple of these..went back and checked..one left...ITS MINE NOW!!..told Darrel, sorry take me off his list..I couldnt wait...He was real understanding..just told me to enjoy the knife..I AM..for those of you still waiting...this Knife is worth the wait..(like so many of them are) its just that the wait can be so hard!! This knife is huge!! I tried size by holding a 12" ruler in my hand before I ordererd knife...knife is much better in hand than ruler!..easily opens with one hand using the lugs or flipper guards...locks up solid..Mine is the bowie style blade..with the anodized handles..engraved on blade with D2 MAD MAX DDR..This knife will fit right in with my likes..Sebenza (3)..Tom Mayo TNT XLG recurve...Szilaski tactical folder,,and others..If you want or like MONSTER sized folders .this is the one to get..(of course you will still want others like me...) BUT for sure..add this one to your collection..I know many of you are familiar with Mr.Ralphs work so nothing new here..but for those of you waiting on one of these...WOOO HOOOOO!!you will be pleased!

ANYone else out there going on a spending frenzy like me with all these great web sites by makers and sellers? ...I have purchased 6 knives on the net in last 5 weeks..( wife is goiing to stick me with one of these if I keep it up) These forums are great too..been into knives for many years, but these computers are really making it great (and difficult too..Hmm which knife do I want today???) Anyway, enuf said for now..looks like This could have been 3 or 4 seperate posts...

Darrel told me the end of the month. Let's see....it's the 25th. Oh boy! I ordered one of the three Mad Max daggers. He only is making three this go round but plans more in the future. I should ask him to number it. Anyway, I can't wait.

Kawanin, I know how you feel. When I discovered the forums and the world of fine knives last fall I went crazy and bought about a whole bunch of great knives. I've always been into knives but had no idea what was out there. What a wonderful world!

Hey Peter, you have one of his dagger style blades coming. so do I. I also am having Darrel do some anodizing to the handle. This is going to be one sharp knife.
Kawanin, you bet I am going on a spending frenzy, and loving every minute of it. I just wish I had more money.

Hey fellas I too am in that holding pattern. Just waiting on my MM to get ready. Got a bowie blade ceramic peen finish comming. I saw those on AZCK site and ALMOST ordered one. Luckily I had a Carson model 4 commin in along with a MT CTII on a trade. Hope these will keep me busy until the mad one gets here. Don't think I will have a problem with that model 4 keeping me busy though. Its a GREAT knife!!

Bushwacked!!!!! the adventures of Mad Max....

As I said earlier, recieved my Max on Sat. the 25th..good thing!...because on the 26th , my wife and I took the dogs for a walk after church..found a nice park and took off on our stroll, dogs in the lead.
About 15 minutes into the walk..IT HAPPENED!!!...Surrounded by em!!...Some of them 5 to 6' tall, others were even taller...I told my wife ..stand back honey,I need a little room here..Out came Mr. Max, a slick move with my thumb and forefinger brought him to full battle ready position..5" of solid D2 performing steel ready for action! With a firm grip on the thick titanium slabs I started swinging....sshhhiiccck!! thhhwwaaaappp!! ..swoooooossshhh!!!

The carnage was all around us...the folding Battle Bowie had done its duty...tree limbs lay everywhere..some of them 1/2" thick...As my wife held me in her arms...the dogs wagging their tails...I folded up the Max, confident that I had just answered her question of...ANOTHER KNIFE!!!!!!......to be continued...........

I had the privilage of owning one of the MADD MAXX prototypes and it was/is awsome. I sold it to a customer along with a production MADD MAXX to his buddy. Now I have two more on order. A Dagger blade (which is sold already) and a bowie blade. It will be hard not to keep the one that isn't sold.

These are the smoothest knives I have ever handled. For being so large you hardly notice that you are carrying it in your pocket.

If you don't have one on order yet, get in line because the word is definatly getting out.

Phil
