This folder is fantastic! I have said it before and I will say it again, the Bullnose blade is an incredible design....the recurve makes it an incredible slasher, the reinforced point makes it an incredible stabber, and the curve on top is great for "trapping" in reverse grip (oh, and it looks great!)...as an added bonus, the top recurve makes it easy to grasp the knife in the closed position (in case you want to use the butt as an impact weapon or the "ears" for a Gunting-like strike)...the symmetrical handle also helps for reverse grip fighting...Hell, it doesn't matter if you want to use blade-in, blade-out, saber-grip, hammer-grip or whatever!

Combine that great blade with a ROCK SOLID frame-lock and you have a real winning combination...the knife really feels like a fixed blade...in part because of the solid lockup but also because of the symmetrical handle, integral guard, and great balance.

Best of all, it is DESIGNED to be flipped :2thumbs:

Thanks to Darrel Ralph and Neil Ostroff (True North Knives) for this great design!

A closeup (note that the serial # is hand engraved ) :D

Nice knife, and nice collection of knives you have there. Is the Maxx in the 4" range? Give us a pic with the Operator and the Perfigo at the same time? Wicked good group, thanks for the pics :)

Unfortunately, the Perfigo and Operator are not mine (yet ;) ) although I did have a chance to play with them...fortunately, I do have the pic you are looking for...here it is:

The Lightfoot and CQD are mine but I don't have a scanner or digi-cam...

In answer to your question, yes, the Bullnose blade is 4".

RL- Thanks for the info, I've got one of the earlier ones in D2 BC coated. I had no idea what all the curves were for.

Wirebender, no problem...but don't take my word as gospel...these are my interpretations not Darrel's ;)

They're a great knife! I've got No. 6, not the talonite blade but I really like the coating he used. He makes a helluva knife.

Congrats RL, wear it in good health!

I've been admiring Bullnose on Neil's site for a long time. Financial constraints aside:), I've never pulled the trigger because it's a flipper and a 4''blade, I think it might be a bit too much to carry in Montreal. Are you sure you can get away with it in TO?
Anyhow, a wonderful knife.

Best,

Dariusz

Hey Dariusz! Good to see you on BF...how's your Minerva??

Thanks for your kind words...had I known, we could have met last week in Montreal when I picked it up from Neil...give him a call and I'm sure he'd give you a mini "knife show"! (speaking of knife shows, are you coming for the CKG show on Oct 27th??)

In answer to your question, I don't plan on carrying this one so I don't think it will be a problem :) (not that it would be anyway)...on the other hand, I just got this Brend/Bladerigger sheath two weeks ago...think this will be ok for carry in TO??

Well, I'm quite sure people will be inclined to listen to you attentively, Brend/Bladerigger combo does that;)
I won't be able to make it to TO in October, but I'll try for Spring CKG show.
Give me a call when in Montreal, we can break a few beers and tell some war stories.

best,

Dariusz
