Darrel has a new one in progress. It is a Madd Maxx on steroids. It is 18" OAL, 9" Blade. Some of the folks who have one on order are getting under the arm sheaths made by Kenny Rowe. They will have a frog and can carry IWB with the frog.

Given those questions, why do I want one?

They are just starting work on them. There is an order for 14 damascus pieces. Darrel has not advised on optional runs beyond that one, nor the run times and duration on these.

I suggest you contact Darrel via his website or through BF and get an order in. They look to be a very limited run as they are quite difficult to make and require a huge amount of time to make them.

These will not be spring assisted.

From what I know, DDR only makes the assisted knives in blade lengths of 4" or less.

Man, that Maxx reminds of a scene from (HORRIBLE movie) league of extraoridinary gentlemen, where you see Mr. Hyde as a monstrous hulk, but then some other guy drinks a whole bottle of the Hyde potion and becomes twice as big. If you haven't seen this movie, DON'T bother!

I think the thumbstud acts as a stop pin as well. At least it does on my Mad Maxx 5.5
