de-assist blackout?

greetings all,
has anybody taken out the torsion bar from their 'blackout'? if so, did it work out okay? seems to have enough of of a blade detent where it will stay shut without the bar. just asking. thanks and best regards.

There's no harm in trying it out to see if you like it de-assisted. I personally detest assisted folders unless its on smaller knives. I removed the torsion bar on my Echelon but the detent wasn't 'very' strong it was just enough, so basically I could 'zig-zag' the blade out from its closed position.

Ilike it that way though, the assist feature on the Echelon just didn't feel right to me.
