I've read that a 0301 can't be de-assisted because there is no detent and detent ball. I just checked my 0301 and it does have the detent and ball. Is this yhe norm with 0301's.

As far as I know, most 30X and 35X models have a detent. They all have the ball, it just stops the liner from scraping the blade.

My 350 didn't have a detent, but I was told that the early ones didn't have them.

Send it to me. I have done this to many assisted Kershaws.

If 301s and 300s have detent holes now, that's a heck of a thing. I found the 0350 to be a little too small for how wide it is, so, I might have to pick one up if I can confirm it having a detent hole...

They don't.

Sitting here with my 301, it has a ball in the frame lock for the blade to roll on so it doesn't scrape on the frame lock, but there is no detent hole in the blade for it to drop into.
