De-Assisted Kershaw Leek?????

You can, but it has no detent ball so you would have a floppy knife. The torsion bar acts as the detent on the Leek. If you're still interested in trying, you would just have to unscrew the handle and remove the torsion bar.

Yes, it does.......It just doesn't have a hole to go into though.

I'd advise against it. Check out the Salvo/Barrage instead, but its not a flipper.

I just checked, my leek doesnt have a ball *shrug*

I assure you, it does.

If it didn't have a ball, one of two things wouldn't be in the picture.

1) A hole for the detent ball wouldn't be there
2) There wouldn't be a groove on the blade, that's shown in between the lockbar, and the frame in the picture.

I de-assisted my Leek and liked it a lot better. You'll have no issues with the blade popping out or at least none that I experienced. The torsion bar goes back in very easy.

you can, and I have, and after about 30 seconds I put the torsion bar back in, it will just flop open, and you need a wrist flick since for me the blade protrusion doesn't quiet protrude far enough, just my experience

I don't know than, i assure u, mine is ball freeuhhh... Nope, nvm :o it was hiding under the clip its the dlc one and i don't have good lighting, and im lazy :o :)

They can, but not often. Plus Kershaw will send you replacements for free, and they take a whole minute to install.

Yes, if you flip it open and close hundreds of times at once, like any spring use wears it.
If you open it, say, 30-40 times a day I think could get a good 4 years out of it.
If you find yourself playong with it too much just de assist it for boring mind numbing days so you can just flick it repeatedly without worry.

If it makes you feel better the bar in this baby still works.

And she was built in June 2006

It's a go then for the leek...but the model with the cb blade will cost me here 124€,thats a big slap on my face, only cons for us here!!!!

Ouch! Maybe try to find someone to ship one to you from the US? My last CB Leek cost me $45 shipped, even adding international shipping it would be way cheaper than 124 euros.

Maybe try Kershawguy for a blem. I deassisted my Leek and like it a lot better than with it. This is actually one of the cases where the pivot being stiff as hell works in its favor, since it prevents the blade from opening on its own to make up for the lack of detent. When I want to open it, I just use the thumb studs and it flies out just as fast as when it was assisted, even with the stiff pivot. Makes a horrible scratching noise though so I don't carry it (putting the spring back in doesn't fix it either).

I trie that, plus i have a friend he lives like totaldbag in north carolina too,but he is a veeery lazy guy,and before xmas i don't see any light with knives from him!
