DE for head shaving

I was one of the lucky ones who won part of Gollnick's DE giveaway, I'm looking forward to trying it!

I've been shaving my face and head for years, my preferred combo is Mach3 razors with HeadSlick cream - it works well, I get a reasonable shave, very quick, and with no blood. I'm used to the combination and it travels well.

I'm wondering how many folks here use a DE system for shaving their heads? How hard is it going to be for me to switch from the Mach 3 system to DE for head/face shaving?

Any recommendations for a decent introductory DE shaver? I'm always one for form and function at a decent price, no need for bells/whistles.

I'm also wondering how well a DE system will travel - I shave at my gym daily, and travel quite a bit, so I am trying to fit this into my lifestyle.

Thanks for any hints! :D

I'm not going to be a lot of help to you but I have been shaving my head with a DE for about a year now. I too was using the Mach 3 system and it worked well for me. I just got fed up with the price.

My best advice on shaving your head is to go slow, especially when your first learning how to use your new blade. I still cut myself occasionally but it's because I get in a hurry.

Haven't worked the nerve to use the DE on the back of my neck---still keeping cheap carts on hand for barbering duties. As little as they get used--a pkg should last a good long time--strickly back of the neck duty.
