Deal Spotting when it comes to supporting distributors?

Hello! I just had a quick question about deal spotting. Is it allowed when the deal is being offered by a distributor who supports the forum (and actually has their own subforum)?

For instance... There is a knife that is selling for $130 - $150 at BladeHQ and KnifeCenter. However, you can buy it direct from the manufacturer (supporting vendor) for $70 right now (it's been discontinued so I believe they are clearing them out). Am I allowed to bring that up or post a link?

Thanks!

I’d say that would be OK but just to be clear the manufactures don’t pay to have a place here

Oh, I didn't realize that manufactures weren't required to pay for a subforum here. Knowing that, I am surprised that companies would request that their subforum be closed. Kind of seems cowardly...

Anyways, to get back on topic, I think I'll refrain from naming the manufacturer with the knife on clearance as I don't want to take a sale away from a supporting distributor.

Thanks!
