Dealer exclusive question

I was wondering if anyone can get a dealer exclusive from spyderco, or do you have to be one of the top online retailers?

Hypothetically, if I was a small knife retailer just starting out, and I wanted to boost my business with a dealer exclusive PM2, would I be able to order it? I know this is a question only the great people at spyderco can answer, so hopefully Sal will weigh in.

I'm just guessing...but I would say you would probably have to order a certain amount of pm2's and pay a certain amount up front, and on top of that spyderco can hardly make enough pm2's to keep up with demand which would suggest that the might not have time to do a dealer exclusive.

I don't think you even have to be a dealer, as long as you can pay for 600 pieces up front. With the economy the way it is, they might even consider a smaller number, say 300-400 for a Golden made piece. Of course, you'd still have to wait for a production slot, which might take a year or two.
