Dealer signature, what's allowable?

I know I can have our website in my signature. That's in your rules for dealer membership. It would seem to follow that if I could advertise our site I could also briefly mention that we have specials for Blade Forums in the exchange area. Can you please confirm?

Sure, as long as it doesn't keep growing until it gets enormous. Also anything that blinks or jiggles tends to bring down the Wrath of the Cougar.

Hey Cougar, thanks, you can be sure that I won't either blink or jiggle, first, last or ever.

Since I am new here and just warming up, I have got to tell you that mere words don't do justice to how good Blade Forums is. And that's just the beginning.

Make sure your sig isn't larger than your posts, that'd be my first suggestion. I don't mind if you even offer one or two knives for direct sale in your signature, and have the links for them go straight to your threads on here. Just try to keep it within the boundaries of good taste.

Sure is refreshing to have somebody ask first instead of just going ahead and doing it.

Spark, thank you for the advice. I trimmed my signature a little bit. Sometimes less is more.

Now I know that you don't need me to tell you this, and flattery is not my thing, but I'll tell you straight from the gut that you have really created an unequalled community here. The passionate and animated discussion, the quality people, the combined knowledge... the vigilant moderators and yes, the sense of humor...

But you know all that so I'll just keep it simple. Thanks.

No worries man, hope you enjoy the service

Keep in mind, also, that the graphic file you've used, which is 7KBytes, is being served from your server. So, everytime someone views one of your posts on bf.c, it will run up your bandwidth usage 7KBytes. That's not a lot... unless some thread you posted in gets into the tens-of-thousands of views -- which some of our threads do. Even that may not matter to you, of course, depending on how you pay for your bandwidth.

Thanks Gollnick, but all is not what it seems. If you right-click on the graphic you'll see that it's hosted by Blade Forums.

The reason the graphic may at first sight seem to be coming from my server is because I hyperlinked the image which is hosted at Blade Forums to link to my home page, which is a neat feature. I like the web.

The fact that the image is very similar to the top bar of my homepage probably added to the illusion.

That said I fully appreciate your concern because I certainly would not want to be unnecesarily squandering bandwidth. Thanks for the thoughtfullness.
