made you look ... no? okay.
i went for a long walk in the woods today, just an ontario tak-1 with me, and hiking staff. was wakling off trail and around things that soon won't be easy to get to. looking for fresh fallen trees, burls, stuff. found a fox hole. walked over frozen water bogs that are impossible to scout in summer, as they meander and hide things. can't boat them, can't really wade them in hip boots, it's just nasty.
came back figuring i'd missed the DOTD for today, and find that it hasn't happened (if at all) AND there were 60+ people luring at peak? yow. guys, it's just a DOTD... go out and get a walk in, enjoy the extra sunlight and fresh air and check out nature's glory! that way, you'll know where to go to chop things up. which, sadly in "my" woods, someone has been out there setting up stakes and lines for part of the abutting forest, i'm guessing condos or mcmansions (again). yuck. very sad. i also seem to have competition with someone doing trailing clearing and fixing... not sure who it is, but they have axe, saw, and something sharp too. mmmm.
