That's a very beautiful knife, Yangdu. Does the stand come with it?
Your Special is Malla like. Shark front end. Work and fighting at 26 ounces and 18".

I have been waiting all day for the special to come up because I was hoping for a Kobra but alas.:(

That's a nice looking Katunje Yangdu Special. Also an unusually late DOTD posting. Maybe some different sharks will strike today!

I have been waiting for a m43,18 kobra or a 18 AK. guess I will have to wait a little longer ;) These are very nice though

I can't do any buying right now...but if I could...

The Sgt does some really great work, doesn't he? I mean look at those lines! Look how straight and even. Anyone that is looking for a hell-for-stout ultra light camping/hiking knife should snap up that $25 special. Makes a great gift for non-khuk loving friends. Or in my case, they were EXCELLENT groomsmen gifts:thumbup:

I love the look of Yangdu's Special. Even the 13" verson is a working gem in it's own right. I bet an 18" would handle like a dream.

Strike One
and Strike Two...
Missed them both...

I got a rare Sgt Khadka chiruwa BAS from Uncle Bill, and it is the only BAS I still have. Mine is 15" and 21 oz., so almost identical. It is just exceptional in fit finish and balance. This is the only other one I have seen, and someone should grab it quick.

And a Katunje in the 18" range! What a nice looking knife. I can't believe the quality of stuff we're seeing lately.

I wonder if the Yangdu Special is still for sale or if Yangdu just hasn't looked in to tell us it's gone. That's with the Stand. 26 ounces, 18"

Man I been waiting for a larger Sgt. Khadka too. I've got one of his 10.5" models. What a kami. Whomever got that one is a lucky camper.

I must say, I've really been enjoying the pictures recently. The photography and the artistic pesentation is top notch.:)

Remember how Bill used to say...

"I've got this special........."

Well I've got this special Sgt. Khadka Chiruwa horn handled BAS. It's got some minor cracking in the horn. If they don't develop any further, it's going to be a nice piece. Gotta wait a couple of weeks and seal the cracks with superglue. Then..... who knows.:)

Many of us have commented on how good Yangdu's presentation looks. She does have an eye for balance and beauty in the arrangements of stone and rock and steel. When Bill took pictures he was always kidding us about the camera, his out of focus pictures and eyes. It was fun. I'd say she did it be- (cough cough) than Bill, and he probably would too.

i know some woodworkers that use bulk "super glue" to liberally soak into pieces, usually wood, to stabalize it, and they're not worried so much about it layering up either, because it sands down REALLY well with 2000 grit, and leaves a finish that some prefer to oil. just a thought.

i just finished a handle in red oak for that non HI kukri - the tung oil is setting up and next week i'll glue it on. pictures shortly.
