Alas, I am here first, but my money is far behind me. :(
Great stuff today Yangdu! :)

I love the simple lines of that Falcata. What an all business blade:thumbup:

I also have to chime in and say that I truly believe the 18" ASTK to be one of THE best "new" khuks in the HI line up.

Good to hear from someone of such stature in this forum. I've ready a fair amount of your posts & appreciate the information. Makes me even more excited with the purchase of my 1st Khukuri. it should be here tomorrow. My next purchases will be next week. Enjoy today's dotd people i have to pass :(

Falcata is one I still need but one of the things for me is the beautiful carved scabbards.

Hope my money supply and one on DOTD eventually collide:D

I think there are only 3 or 4 villager falcatas out there. I have the first one and it's one of my favorite HI blades. Everyone should have one. :)

I dont know about everyone - but i this one will be heading my way in the mail soon -- funny thing about it - i asked in a thread a week ago if they were still being made? I had seen it on the web page that said "limited run" and that "these are items HI has made in the past but are not always available" (or something to that affect).

so i wasn't sure if they wee even being made and was thinking about asking if i could order one then a couple days later - *shazam* there she appeared at the top of the page.

it must be HI magic or something maybe just a coincidence - either way or neither way - I cant wait to hold her

she looks smooth and graceful yet strong and decisive - beautiful and inviting yet not to be misused or taken lightly -- I have the feeling that when I hold her I will feel inspired yet calm and assured - as if a part of my soul will be soothed.

I hope my girlfriend doesn't read this she might get the wrong idea.

thanks stickfred - i think someone said somewhere in all these threads ive been reading -- that there is an HI virus thingy that you can catch hanging out around this area of the internet.

seems it could be dangerous to a bank account:cool:

Once you drink th HI elixer, it burns in your soul! Judging by your photo, I'd say the 48 ounce:eek:Falcata is in capable hands! There's been much talk of wood lately. This handle looks like some of the dhar i've seen. But, I am really a noob still around these parts. In any case, it's attractive and unique, much like the blade to which it's attached. If you like big, unique blades, which you obviously do, you should check the archives for this years Halloween BHAIRAB. It's 70 ounces! I think it might still be available;)

Take care and God bless.

If this is really still available, I'm gonna have to take it. Email will be on it's way soon.

I haven't been checking in on the bladeforums for a while, and as soon as I come back I see what may be the perfect Khuk for me. . . Just the right size and price point for me at the moment. :D

thanks jdk1 for telling me about the knife in the pic you posted of the BHAIRAB - it is being shipped to me now.

i think i wont need anymore for awhile my bank account is feeling the edge of fine made blades bearing down on it

BFH44, looking at that thing makes my rebuilt rotator cuff hurt:eek:. I'm glad you liked it. It's look is pure, unadulturated awesomeness. It is a prime example of the unique mix of culture, art and raw power which makes HI so wonderful. It is the bomb and I can't wait for a review! Again, I'm so glad it found a perfect home:). Enjoy, take care and God bless.

It arrived today what a fantastic beautiful; etc etc - blade

i am not sure what the significances of the copper colored material is i think it is part of the story for the knife not a structural reason -- any ideas?

it is heavy - almost 1/2 inch thick at base of spine - most of the spine is 3/8ths thick

but you were right i do like it very much
