Email your lucky number to get one of these beautiful knives.

Prices don't show on my PC.

Nice carved handles. Would love to see more of this on other models.

Are these full tang???

And are all Kardas going to come with a sheath now, instead of a scabbard?

And most important... What is the price???

I couldn't decide between #8 or #9, so since I have some carved horn models but no karam, I went with that. But then later I was thinking what a nice companion piece #8 would be to a larger carved horn AK or other knife.

I'll have to put one of those on my wish list.

Sorry Norm,
I gave Yangdu a list of ones that I would want. #8 (horn) was second on the list and that's the one I got. Oh, I just reread your post and you got the one you wanted. Cool!

Glad you got it Steve! I do have a carved horn kumar karda, which works, but these are great designs. I have the twin of #8 in regular smooth horn, and it is about my favorite YCS karda.

Believe it or not, horn is about the rarest of the handles materials for this model. I don't know about the YCS's from way back when, but none of the recent batch had horn handles, so only the 3 or 4 that have been sold individually are out there I believe.

BTW, can't believe there are still 4 or 5 of the 10-11"ers left. With carved chandan no less! Funny how demand ebbs and flows depending on the day, etc. Other times the frenzy would have been incredible on these.

Thanks,

Norm

Listening to Svashtar and Ferguson is much like overhearing the conversation of two well fed lions after eating several native rail road workers in Africa.

*****BURP*****

"The Ghost and the Darkness" 1996 film about tigers and railroad workers in India. Brad Pitt and Michael Douglas. Good film.

Back to our regularly scheduled amazing Yangdu's deals. :)

Just a thought, but if you had an HI katana with the dragon-carved handle, one of these makes a perfect companion piece...

Hm, no icon for "enabler". Maybe a smiley pokin' a quizzical smiley in the ribs.

Maybe not quite what you had in mind but the best I could do on such short
notice.

oh damnit those are beautiful.
Look what we have done.
Yvsa begets the YCS, the YCS begets the YCS karda, the YCS karda morphs into a 14" chopper all on it's own.
Fantastic.

I've been eying these, but had minor things holding me back. Black sheathes and a handle I love.... It doesn't get any better than this!

Well you almost have it right DIJ. Yvsa begat the YCS, the YCS karda's, and the YCS awl.;) :D
The YCS kardas were brought out because of popular demand.
The only thing about the YCS I didn't design was the scabbard.;)

Interesting about the carved handles instead of the inlay.
Me Likey! :D

It always seems we're chasing the same ones. Which means I've been pretty lucky in the decisions I've made even when I've been too slow.

Luckily, I was able to fall back and still get #5, which had it's own appeal to me for some reason.

Hey Ad, I do have a Kothimoda katana with an ornate carved horn handle, but need to clean it up. They polished it out with that red rouge and it is always a huge job getting it out of the nooks and crannies. It is the nicest, best balancing HI sword that I have. The scabbard must have a pound of silver on it, but is a chore to keep looking good.

But for that matter, a manjushree will match just as well...
