Everything today is gorgeous -- I'm soooo tempted by that katana... Anyone who doesn't have one yet should be all over that Uddha; I don't need a third, but if it doesn't get picked up by someone else soon, I may have to.

As I always say: Uddha sword Good :thumbup:

Those swords will be quick to go I would imagine. The Bonecutter is decent. It's as hefty as my Ultimate Fighter and cheaper! :grumpy: But not as pretty! Mwhaha.

All in all... those puppies should be gone come 5pm or so.

Oh and I've yet to see a Salyan before. I like the inverted cho... at least that's the best way I can describe it. The weight sounds good too. I would have picked that up if I didn't already get my M-43. I find out this morning that I have $800 in car repairs needed too... which makes for any other buys in the future to be few and far between.

NOW There's a nice bonecutter. Gentle arc to the blade!

It is a nice blade. I'm big on the "pointy" blades myself... I need all around use (cutting and piercing). The heft makes the BC a mean blade... I'd just have to wonder if it could pierce with the curved tip.

But regardless... it's one to add to my list of must haves. Unfortunately the car comes first (I have roughly $800 in repairs needed for it right now).

Email sent on the Uddha sword by Sher. Been wanting one for a long time and there's not a lot of time to yin and yang over this one. See what happens...

Great stuff today, Sharkies! Someone needs to jump on that katana before I decide I need it more than I need food for the next couple weeks.

Looks like I got the Uddha sword. I haven't sharked for a while and was wondering about my mojo, but it appears to be okay.;)

W-mail sent on BoneCutter. Last week I got the Hanuman AK. Luckily I am working out of town and will not have to go eye-ball to eyeball with the wife for a week or 2.

I am salivating over that Salyan. There aren't too many that come up as DODs. Must.......resist........temptation......

It's a thick'n if the stats are to be believed! 18" and 44oz.? Wow, my 19" BC was only something like 33 or so ounces if I recall!

Yeah my Ultimate Fighter is 18" and 40oz. It's a HEFTY beast! It's so thick it's unreal. Which is good for a chopper.

Speaking of... I've been playing around with it more and maybe if I wasn't such a weakling the 40oz wouldn't be so bad. :D The point is perfectly balanced for piercing and the blade perfect for cutting. Aside from the weight, it'll be hard to beat by any other Khukuri.

That's the sweetest curve on an HI katana that I've seen in a while! Gorgeous.
Steve

I received the katana today. To tell you the truth, I've only played with wooden swords (Aikido) and am new to swords ;). And even then, I would consider myself a total noob at handling swords. (Aikido is for disarming, neutralizing and paying attention to your surroundings, not slicing and dicing lol)

I like the grip very much. I can get an consistent quality grip on the sword. (I'm assuming that grip is very important, just like pistols ;))

The sword isn't sharp, but I intended of attaching this sword to my hakama for a Halloween party. (Yeah, I'm sure chicks will dig a guy in a long skirt with a sword strapped on...)

I intend on sharpening up the sword though, although it will be mainly decorative, I want to see how ninja I can get with it. If I need to use it, it will be heck of a last stand. (Shell casings surrounding my body, pistols and magazines discarded around me, rifle next to me crumpled up due to me running out of ammo and using it as a bludgeon, then me with a death grip on the katana with a crazed look )

But seriously, I was thinking of using a diamond stone, 600 grit to start then up, 20 micron etc until I polish...

Hey saikoryuujin, I know you haven't practiced a dedicated swordsmanship art, but nevertheless, as an aikidoka, how would you rate the draw out of the scabbard? I suppose you wouldn't have been taught the finer points of batto drawing and sayabiki, but, is it possible for you to draw it horizontally from your hakama?
