No one does a sword like Kumar...gorgeous.

I find Rajkumar's swords extraordinarily well done, just Like Kumar's. They both have different styles, and their weight distribution is different on their blades for different purposes, which is great, because then buyers get two choices from two different makers, but the same type of sword. I find that Rajkumar's balance point is very close, just ahead of the bolster, Kumar likes his a tad further out from the bolster, and thus, his blades are a little more forward heavy. I like both though for different sword wielding styles, and forms.

I have never owned a sword before.
How would Kumar's Wajaski compare with a WWII Japanese wakizashi short sword?

I only have two swords not made by Kumar IIRC. One a Wajaski by Rajkumar, the other a Tarwar by Bura. I could never engage in deciding which is the better maker. There are differences that make them unique. All are equally beautiful. IMHO, Rajkumar works tend to be more ornate.

Rajkumar is also a jeweler. He likes to please the eye but dont let that fool you. He can harden and temper a sword like none other.

I've collected knives for 30 years. In the three months I've been around Himalayan Imports, I've been stunned at the quality.

Yes, I know he's a jeweler as well. I also can't/won't dispute your knowledge or opinions, you've been working with HI far longer than I. I was simply stating my view point, I would never dispute whom is better than who. Purna was no slouch either his Agni Jowala is superlative.

I'm a biased Kumar fanboy from way back. Over the last 15 years I've seen Kumar go from a kami who could temper a fine edge (much thinner than some of the axe like massive convex edges like Sher would sometimes craft) to one that has become masterful at the long blade.

I own swords forged by Bura before his health declined, I still find Kumar's work to feel more refined to my hand. Kumar simply makes a blade for "me" (aggressive weight forward, fine edge, etc.)

That said, Rajkumar is an incredible talent. I have 3 or 4 pieces by him. Incredible and impeccable work. Kumar is just the kami who uniformly speaks to me on nearly every level.

At least 100 HI pieces have passed through my hands. Kumar's Falcata is the most refined sword I have ever held

But the beauty of HI is that there are no wrong answers;)
