i would like to see more stag handles on smaller knives, im not sure how good they will be on a big chopper.

I'll take the tamang knife please.

I sent you an email, please let me know if you got it (it's my FIRST OVERALL TIME purchasing anything from someone at bladeforums and I hope I am doing it the right way. Crossing my fingers!)!

The stag handle is a nice change of pace. I also think that the wood scabbard on the Pachthar adds a nice touch.

Did you recieve a confirmation of your order plus shipping?

This is all that happened, in chronological order:
1) I posted here saying I was gonna take the knife
2) I sent two emails (1 via clicking on Yangdu's name and chosing "Send an email". The 2nd email I simply sent to Yangdu's email address he posted at the bottom of the thread's starting topic. Why did I send TWO emails instead of ONE? Because I wanted to be SURE at 100% that he received my email...I know it's a bit paranoid, but better be safe than sorry, that's my policy).
3) I edited my post, adding that I sent Yangdu's an email (in it, I confirmed I wanted the tamang)
4) Yangdu replied to both my emails, saying in 1 email that it was a "done deal, will ship the tamang knife tomorrow", that s/h was "$15 for USA" and that the email to which send the money via Paypal was himimp@aol.com
5) I sent the money ($115.00) via Paypal to himimp@aol.com and received a confirmation email from Paypal stating that the money was sent
6) I sent an email to Yangdu, informing him that I sent him the money and confirming my name and full address
7) I posted here as well, stating that the payment was sent
8) I saw your post very early this morning and replied to it.

That's all that happened.

When you say "Did you receive a confirmation of your order plus shipping", what do you exactly mean? Yangdu said in his email "done deal, will ship the tamang knife tomorrow" and "shipping cost within USA is $15". Technically I imagine this is an order confirmation and definitely states the shipping. I don't know if I was supposed to receive something more, like some email confirming he has received my money or something like that. As far as I am concerned, I think I did all I was supposed to have done.

Is there a problem?

PS: I am slightly surprised that the status on the Tamang hasn't been changed to "SOLD", but I guess Yangdu just went to sleep and was gonna change it today...

Thank you Karda for the welcome! :)

I read the topics and bookmarked them for future reference. I appreciate you taking the time to post the links for me, I really do.

I hope I didn't make any mistake (I used common sense and it doesn't seem to me I made any after reading the topics at the links you gave me, but I am not the expert here. This is my FIRST purchase of a HI, FIRST purchase of anything via Bladeforums and FIRST purchase via Paypal that wasn't related to eBay. Too many firsts, I'd say!).

I want to say that I admire HI products and love the way HI clients are so in love with HI products! I can't wait to have this Tamang here!

Thanks again!

Sounds like you have it under control and did well.
Just be aware, also, that the Tamang is a general use khukuri and not warranted for for heavy usage and large chopping jobs, it should be fine for clearing trails and limbing smaller branches, kitchen and light camp duty.

Welcome Legion! I don't have a Tamang myself, but I hear it's an awesome utility knife. Once you receive your first HI blade, you'll notice that it's definitely not a cookie cutter, production blade. Each is going to be incredibly unique. Some may dislike this but others, such as myself and everyone on this forum, love how you can literally see the soul with which each kami forged the blade.

Also, Yangdu is a woman. Haha!
