It's my wife's birthday today. I should buy her one of those kitchen knives...of course, I do 90% of the cutting in our house, so it would be a little bit like the episode of the Simpsons where Homer buys Marge a bowling ball with "Homer" engraved on it. So that probably wouldn't turn out to well for me
However, MY birthday is in 6 days. I better start dropping subtle hints now lest I end up getting a pair of jeans and a "nice tee shirt that doesn't have a comic book character or Star Wars on it."
Oh and that kobra is a BEAST

I have one made by Kumar circa 2003/2004 that I am pretty sure was designed to cleave through an incoming armored warhorse. It's
only 32oz and 25". It's a monster.
**Now, he's my disclaimer where I have to flat out in great detail tell you to NOT use the Kobra for what I did**
The summer I purchased that Kobra I was visiting my mom when a massive storm blew in and knocked over all manner of trees. I'm talking 40+ foot tall sweet gums just shoved over like a carton of milk. One of said trees fell so that my truck was completely blocked in by a 9" thick limb attached to a 20" across tree. I was blocking my mom in and the phone was out. So the only way we were getting out of there was to cut our way out.
My mom does not own a chainsaw. She's 4'10 and weighs maybe 85lbs. I didn't have mine in my truck, but I did have my new Kobra. Once again, PLEASE do not ever use a kobra like this. I took that 25" monster out and went to town on the tree limb. If I remember correctly, it took me the better part of 10 minutes, but I finally made my way through the limb and got it detached from the tree so I would only have to drag off a 200lb piece of wood rather than a 3000lb tree. I was able to get out and get my grandpa's chainsaw down the road so that we could clear out the rest of the debris.
A Kobra should never be subjected to that, and I knew full well that if I broke it, it was ON ME, not HI. That said, it came through with flying colors. Not only did I not bend it or break it, but it was still just as sharp as it had been.
Kumar knows how to make a blade.
