Welcome home, Yangdu! You're back with a vengence!

Gahh I have a woodchopping date at my mom's cabin. the bancharo would be great and the hasiya would be perfect for the early creeping vines.....tempting:D

Lets see how my sheath making skills are.

I wonder if Sher will make another one of those bizarre hand guard kukiri. Was that design unique, or just rare?

They come up here for sale from time to time, there are a few out there though i havent been keeping track of how many. I'd have to say somewhere around 10 or 15 pieces give or take a few.

the bbc did a special over here on honey collecting in nepal, the guy climbed up a rickety ladder about 100 odd feet and hung from a rope while manipulating a basket and a prod on a LONG bamboo stick to knock the wild honeycomb into the basket. anyhow, he dropped his stick, and they made him a new one from stuff right there, using a hasiyah just like this one above. they did not have any kukhuris, just the hasiyah. was a cool prog and i thought only the women used them, but not so. looks like it would be a pretty nasty weapon if called on.

Maybe I am not up to date as Karda, but there are two different designs for the hand guard kukri. One being the "D" guard and the other is like mine that I picked up from 2/17 dotd. As far as I can remember there have been around 7-8 of the "D" guard and only one like 2/17 dotd. Photos will be coming as soon as it stops raining. :)
