So beautiful but quite pricy. I will have to pass as this Friday is my pay day, too far away. :(

Tirtha is an incredible artist.

Wish I could share that same enthusiasm for Tirtha. He will have to create something quite extraordinary to gain my respect for him again if such product ever comes into my hands. Perhaps then he can vindicate himself.

So I'm more weary about Tirtha's workmanship up close, past experience marring such craftsmanship. :(

That Dui is about the finest example of craftsmanship I have seen. Just beautiful.

The last time an Everest katana was offered was about 7 months ago.
The one before that was 15 months ago.

The drum on the right looks like Tirtha's "beer mug".

Back on March 2nd, we got this bad news: "Today our young sher kami cut his hand two fingers while buffing the Katana sword."

I'm guessing that today's Katana is the one that was blessed by young Sher -- with his blood.

However, the third photo closeup of the blade shows a beer mug, which is Tirtha Kami's mark.

Does that mean that this Katana was a collaboration of the two kamis? Or that Tirtha started it and young Sher finished?

If so it is a nice gesture to give young Sher credit for the Katana, since he made the greater sacrifice.

That's not Tirtha's mark that's young Sher. It's a drum on it's side and a beer mug when it's verticle.

.... It has been a long time since a Katana appeared on the DOTD. Beautiful piece.

If it's available in an hour or so I might have to bite...

Nils, I agree both of them look tremendous but I just got the Mirga (deer) Ang Khola by Rajkumar last week and just got offered a super deal on a early model Ruger Bearcat (I collect Rugers also) that I couldn't pass up. Have to go with the Ruger this time.

I'm ordering a giant tin chirra for my dad's 70th birthday so I've got to save my pennies.

If that is the blade he cut himself on, it's new user should be careful. I had a santoku I gave to my brother because it bit 6 of 7 of our cooks, one significant laceration for every time it was drawn. :D

The balance point was on the handle, it once swiveled around on the table and got somebody in the back. Beautiful blade that katana though.
