An SG!

If it were wood instead of horn, i'd be on it.

Lots of nice, non-typical offerings for the sharks today!

Oh man...sooo much good stuff today..and NO money...I have been eying a seax for a while, but man does that Sarge knife and the Rusty SD look niiiice.

Interesting offerings by the new kamis. Is the shop expanding, or are these new kamis replacing others?

Awsome:thumbup:
Some of my favorites.

That Sarge is just great at processing game joints and I use mine to de-bone my turkeys for Turducken.

Holly uses her JKM-1 all the time when we camp and cookout or go to the beach. Rock solid and a beautiful handmade knife:)

I use my Seax heavily for my Viking Kit. That sucker can pierce car doors and laugh about it.

A Sgian Dubh, they are sweet little knives. Keeps nice and close in that neck sheath.

Some sharks are gonna be happy with their sharp new teeth:D

Suicy?

The seax was a Forum request...by bunches of folks...most absolutely love them.

The Sarge was designed to be a hunter, used to separate joints and butcher whitetails...about 150 made by the time I stopped counting.

The JKM..smaller...was named for an honored BF member, James Mattis...it is puuko style and been around for many years. The larger one was a request I made to Yangdu that recently found some favor, so she had the kamis make more. Substantial knife. Great sheath.

The Sgian Dubh was selected as the style of choice to honor a departed, but Great friend of HI and Bill M, Rusty...who always had a back-up for his back-up...in knives and guns. Great hearted man.

I THINK Yangdu is working with the kamis to harden the entire blade edge length on the smaller knives.

I've not made a negative comment here before, but the Sgian Dubh holds a special cultural significance due to my Celtic origins, and this blade misses the mark to my eye in that the blade shape is not the symmetrical "spear-point" tip that is now accepted as standard for this style of knife.

If the the Kami's could see and handle a few originals and/or earlier HI production examples I'm sure the Rusty SG would regain its more traditional older form.

Bonkers, it's the kami's interpretation of a classic design of yours/mine... :p never exact; part of the fun. I think they were sent a wooden model of the SD at first, though. I've got an early one.

Personally, I'd love to see an 18-22" HI Seax- that'd do nicely.

I'll second that

Ah Bonkers, my fellow Celt
I too share your roots... (Ok so most of my relatives are known as more writers & Drinkers being from Co. Cork., than fighters). And as I follow the old Religion of my Ancestors, I understand the " special cultural significance" since a blade (or athame), is important in my culture also well as very important in my Faith.

As much As I have a fancy for what is a "traditional" Sgian Dubh, I also knew when I asked for a custom Lil' Rusty to be made for my altar I knew two things.. one, it was not going to be my Grandmothers Sgian Dubh, and two.. It was going to have the soul of a place & the people, and A wonderful person I never got to meet, & most likely will never meet on this mortal plane.

I guess what I am saying is that if one looks for the "Traditional" then one goes to the place that Reveres them... the homeland of the Object...

Hmm... maybe it should be called a "Sgian Dubh like object"?

I don't know but after seeing the lil' Rusty that is bound for NY I will be VERY proud to have it sit next to many items on my altar which are "tradtional"

Brightest Blessings
Willow
(Ready to duck any thrown Sgian Dubh like objects)

As long as the Rusty Sgian Dubh is made like the one to honor Mr.Slate and remains in his honor, i dont care if it's not made to "traditional" specifications. Anyways all that would be needed to bring it to spearpoint is a little rework of the top edge. IMHO it's not too badly off the mark in that respect.

What does IRK me is that 4 of the models that i wish to aquire all show up in the same thread while i have no way or chance in 773H of ordering them.
Pardon me while i fall outta my chair and throw a tantrum.......:mad::rolleyes:

These are new Kamis, they work with master Kami Bura.
