Another admirer of the true villager here; congrat's nagod on a great deal! :thumbup:

I admit that a 22ounce YCS would have be a definite addition to my collection if I'd been early enough to shark it! :D

Not baby YCS, an original style one... It would have been my #6 if I'd seen this earlier, temporary HIKV-remission be damned...

Hmmm Sarge knife still available...

mPisi's favorite "normal" khuks:
WWII --> Gelbu Special --> JKM-1

Favorite special khuks:
YCS --> Pen Knife --> Sarge Knife

Yeah Yangdu said it had a standard handle.

Maybe that helped keep the weight down.

I ordered one of the ones they did a special run of a few years back. It was a beautiful thing with the chandan handle and all, but it was too heavy to use. This seems like it will be light enough for me to swing:thumbup::D

As a fat 52 year old with shoulder problems I have to admit 30 to 32ounce blades are at the top end of comfort zone.

To own such a beautiful blade as the YCS at the weight of today's offering would be a delight to both the eyes and the arms. :D

Congrat's hollowdweller on getting it! :thumbup:

I wonder how an M43 in a villager finish like this would sell? I think that I would buy one if they were offered. Horn or Black Walnut handle (short handle, not the longer hand and a half ones I have seen before) w/ silver fittings.

Anything over about 27 oz is too hard on my shoulder to use. Not the impact of the blade on the wood mind you but the muscles that it pulls holding it.

I mean to chop thru something not so bad but on extended work the heavier ones will really hurt my shoulder.
