Welcome to the forum, ac112. That's a good jump on the Bamboo Cutter. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. We'd be glad to hear about how it performs and what you think of it.

:D That was the first "R" rated movie I ever saw in the theater. One of the best I ever saw too.

I miss good movies in the theater, not sure why they can't make them anymore.

Cheers stickfred,
never thought i get in on a deal living in the UK with the time difference, but got lucky this time. Just like to say hi i have been a bit of a lurker but this is my second HI purchase the first being 16.5 CAK and that was impressive enough and starting to develop the HIKV already. I would just like to add that this is one of the most inspiring forums (if not the most) i have ever come across i only discovered it very recently and as such i have missed so much (luckily there are archives) there is no childish flaming or posturing or any other nonsense - just enthusiastic members

Grats on the Bamboo Cutter and Welcome to HI, I have one and love it. You have picked two great blades, the CAK is one of my favorites. Enjoy and hope more come you way.

ac112,
16.5" CAK is a great starter. It's good to see you're well on your way. Has that CAK got to chop anything down yet?

I feel like a lurker, too, 'cause while I'm watching the Forum for the latest posts and the latest DOTD, I'm working my way through the Archives. After reading approx. 2 years of postings (from oldest through page 62) has given me a heck of an education. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you get a chance to read through them.

Nice. In spite of their relative thickness, I love Kumar Kardas. Good sharkin', oz!

Same here; those big Kardas are a great value. In size and shape, they're very similar a Leuku, but heavier duty and having a handle better sized to American hands than most of what you'd see out of Finland. I'd prefer birch as a handle material, although that's not a huge issue.

I quite enjoy it when KK"s have carved horn or wood handles... the first one Yangdu sold me had all these curls and lines and abstract flourishes carved into its handle.

yeah, I can read and have been corrected plenty. Sorry I am not better with these things. :o

I have one of those :-) One of my first H.I. blades. I keep it with the camping gear, or when I'm going to a picnic or cookout.

The 15.5 inch 20 ounce Ang Khola by by Lok Kami is a nice feeling knife, fast. Someone needs to jump on it. The Karda and chakma are not lost, the scabbard was made without them.
