My mother's bday is on the 12th and I'm sure she would love this!
We're both from the farmlands of Souther Leyte in the Philippines and the bamboo cutter deisgn shares a lot with the bigger bolos we used over there

I see a lot of sharks looking at this thread, and a lot of sweet deals to feast upon - yet I am the only one to have taken a bite?! We need to bloody up these waters more guys :D

Nothin' for me today, killa, but if I'm able I've got to check it out. 'Sides, I'm expecting a UBE to show up tomorrow. By the way killa, did you get my response to your "Leaf" mark?

That UBE really looked slick! Hope you post up a couple good pics - it's not an often made model and I don't recall seeing a good review

As for the mark, I did and many thanks for it! I was really curious about that one... I looked over all the kami mark guides and did a couple searches but just couldn't match it up. As for the thread, I was really thinking I could get the how-to done that night... but then the caffeine wore off and the realization that it's finals week kicked in :o

I would like to see the crazy looking handle that was removed from the project knife. Crazy is as crazy does!

Wovoka-I was wondering about how crazy it had to be to make Pala take it off myself.

killa, you just take it easy and the How-To will get done. The Archives have some reviews of the UBE from shortly after its introduction. A couple felt they had found their perfect khuk.

Dang, missed an m43 and a bamboo cutter! Good sharkin', gentlemen. Hope you have fun with them!

Kev

Live and learn. All good deals today and a lot of happiness all around.

Your Mom is gonna love that Bamboo Cutter Killa, Mine Loved hers..., LOL!

It must have been a strange one because that tang wouldn't have gone all the way through a normal handle.

I'll take the Ang Khola, if it's still avail. Make a good gift with a kydex sheath..

Thanks

Dangit, Killa! You beat me to the Bamboo Cutter. Good snag.

Haha - I was just at the right place at the right time. Decided to check HI about 10 minutes before the bus I usually catch to college arrived - happened upon the Bamboo Cutter at this stellar price and just had to shark it! Ended up being 15 or so minutes to my writing class, but that's all right as the teacher is a huge fashion nut and spends that time discussing her latest acquisitions with a few students :p

Heck if I get some sun tomorrow, I may post a review as I have a pair of UBEs.
The bigger one spends most of its time in the garden and the smaller one has been on kitchen duty since I got it.
The little one is easily the best kitchen knife I have and I really need to than Steely Guns again for it.
It is the best thing for slicing up meat, cheese and veggies I have, but then I am not very well equipped in the kitchen.
I can cook really well but I never have gotten around to getting myself anything too fancy for knives and such.
